Bodie

In October, my wife and I took a road trip to Crater Lake in Oregon. We luckily stumbled upon Bodie. Bodie is a  Ghost town just a few miles from the Bridgeport reservoir that was put in place during the gold rush. Unfortunately, we were only able to explore for 4 hours! Sounds like a long time; however, we only saw half the town. Bodie is probably the most intact ghost town in the United States; from jackets hung over chairs to garage/workshops full of stuff to an entire school house full of books and classroom furnishings. The experience is invigorating! You are completely consumed in the town and can almost experience life in late 1800s as Bodie boomed to a massive population of 10,000 residents.
Bodie is now a National Park and has local rangers living in the town to protect from looters. There is even a rumor of a Bodie curse if anyone steals from the town.

Hello!

My name is Kyle and I guess this is my Blog. I don't really know what to say about it or really how I feel. Im not much of a writer and never thought I would be blogging. But interestingly enough there is  an underlying reason. I currently reside in a very large metropolis. My wife and I are looking to pack up one of these days and move toward an ever expanding minimalist lifestyle!

To Do List:
Buy a used RV and spruce it up.
Find the perfect spot to set up camp.
Build
live:.

From now until the day I fade.

The sun rises above an earthy crust warming the cool air hovering close to the surface. Once more, before no more; a coolness blows mixing the early morning glow with the sounds of life & the natural clashing of trees pushing together.

The ground is flattened and covered like never seen before. "Protecting the crust is a must!" they shout. The Horizontal pursuits quickly become vertical ones as the scraping of skies should keep our eyes...more focused?

"Everything moves so much faster now."
The brisk pace of the heavy denim pants veers left. The smell of a freshly brewed pot quickly passes, two wheels powered by opposite arms quietly zipps past. Two becomes four, four becomes much more. Louder horns bring wider turns...
